Getting Started

New to CrossFit? This is how we get you started…

First, contact us to sign up for a FREE Intro session.  You’ll be able to meet the coach, ask questions, and try a short CrossFit workout.  

Next, you’ll be admitted into our regular classes, but in a scaled division with intensity and adapted movements that are tailored appropriately for you while you’re new.  This will give you the opportunity to get used to our methods, movements, and the entire system, but still progress at your own pace.  This is unique to most CrossFit Gyms.

 Our workouts incorporate gymnastics, Olympic lifting, kettlebells, running, rowing and various other skills blended into exciting and challenging “workouts of the day” (WOD).  See “What is CrossFit” for more details.  There will be open gym, weightlifting, and endurance classes available throughout the week so that you can continue to develop the skills you have learned that week or the previous weeks.  You will be permitted to add weight, reps, duration, etc., as you and the coach feel comfortable doing so.  Pretty soon, you’ll be doing things that you never though were possible.

Some helpful reading is available to gain some understanding of the basic functional movements that will be practiced. They are available in pdf documents on the CrossFit Journal. The documents are titled “What is Fitness” and “Foundations.”
